Qype: Shangri La Guest House in Unawatuna

Set about 100m back from the beach, and in its own walled gardens, the Shangri La is OK. It's definitely better to stay in one of the wooden chalets outside, but also more expensive. A double room inside without A/C will set you back Rs. 1000, but, you do get what you pay for, and here is no exception. It's run by an Aussie so I guess it would have been good value during the recent Ashes series...
